FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A Hero Down: SEAL Team 6 Veteran Fighting for His Life After Tragic Florida Crash

LAKE WALES, FL — For years, Michael “Mikey” Owings lived in the shadows, putting his life on the line as a member of the legendary SEAL Team 6. He survived the world’s most dangerous combat zones to ensure American freedom. But on February 4, 2026, the man who survived the unthinkable was nearly taken out by a catastrophic five-car accident just a half-mile from his own front door. The collision on Route 60 involved eleven people and claimed four lives at the scene. Mikey was airlifted in critical condition and has already endured four grueling surgeries. He currently remains in a fight for his life… this time, on home soil.

The Debt of Honor
We often say, "Support our troops," but today that sentiment requires action. Mikey Owings spent his career as our nation’s shield. Now, that shield is broken. With years of rehabilitation ahead and a family facing total financial disruption, the burden is more than one hero should carry alone.

Direct Impact: No Bureaucracy, No Waste
In an era of "charity fatigue" where administrative costs often swallow donations, this mission is different. A GoFundMe has been established to bypass the red tape.

  • 100% Transparency: Every dollar goes directly to the Owings family.
  • No Overhead: No executive salaries or bureaucratic "skimming."
  • Immediate Relief: Funds go straight to mounting medical bills, specialized rehab, and daily survival costs.

It’s Our Turn to Serve
"Mikey has faced unimaginable dangers to keep us safe," says Michael Gray, fellow Navy SEAL. "It is a heartbreaking irony that he survived the battlefield only to be broken by a local traffic accident. This is our chance as a nation to prove that we don't just say we care - we show it."

This is a call to patriots across the country. Whether it is $5 or $500, your contribution is a direct investment in the recovery of a man who gave everything for you.

Stand with a warrior. Give back to a hero.
